At Wimbledon we are committed to doing our utmost to protect the environment. One way we can contribute positively is through encouraging the use of more sustainable transport when visiting The Championships. We highly recommend our guests use public transport to reach us, or active travel like walking or cycling if possible.

Please note that with capacity in Championships Car Parks strictly limited spaces must now be booked in advance. 

 

The Championships Journey Planner is the best way to plan your trip, however you intend to travel to SW19. The planner highlights the most sustainable options for travelling to and from Wimbledon. You can create your own personalised travel plan which will alert you and recalculate your route should there be any disruption on the day you’re travelling. Public Transport

Southfields Station (District Line) – 15 mins walk to the Grounds.

Wimbledon Station (District Line, South Western Railway, and London Trams) – 20 mins walk to the Grounds.

Wimbledon Park Station (District Line) – 25 mins walk to the Grounds.

A dedicated Championships bus service runs from Wimbledon Station to the Grounds. In 2025, fares will be:

  • Single £4.00
  • Return £6.50

Return buses leave from Car Park 1 on Somerset Road.

Note: The 493 TfL bus service is redirected during The Championships via Bathgate Road, Queensmere Road, Parkside and High Street Wimbledon in both directions.

Cycling

Bicycle parking for either personal or hire bikes is available in Car Parks 6 and 10 and is free of charge. Bikes left at other locations may be removed. All bicycles are left at the owner’s risk.

Taxis

Shared taxi services with fixed fares operate from Southfields Station (return taxis to Southfields and central London from Wimbledon Park Road – exit via Gate 1) and Wimbledon Station (return from Somerset Road rank – exit via Gate 12).

Parking

Due to strictly limited availability, public car parking spaces must be pre-booked and there will be no on-day parking sales (other than at the Park & Ride facility in Morden).

Park and Ride

A Championships Park & Ride service is available at Morden Park (located on the A24, postcode SM4 5QU) charged at £20 for standard cars/minibuses or £10 for fully electric vehicles.

It is open from 6.30am until 11pm, with the last bus leaving the Grounds at 10pm, or at 10.40pm if there is late play on Centre Court or No.1 Court. Pre-booking is possible, but not required.

Getting to the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum and Tour

The Museum can be accessed via Gate 4.

By London Underground: Southfields Station (District Line) – 15 mins walk to the Grounds. Wimbledon Station – 20 mins. Wimbledon Park Station – 25 mins. All have step-free access.

By Bus: The 493 bus links Wimbledon Station and Southfields Station to the Museum. Stops at ‘Wimbledon Tennis Club and Museum’ outside Gate 4.

By Taxi: Drop off and pick up points at Gate 4.

By Car: Use SW19 5AG via sat nav. Blue badge parking inaccessible May to July due to Championships. Free parking if available. Bring ID and vehicle pass. Entry via Gate 4 on Church Road.
